Our Story

At Page & Flame, everything begins with a dream. Perhaps you share a similar vision: to establish a cozy bookshop situated in a mountain town, filled with beautiful books, tea, and lively conversation.

We are Page & Flame, a bookshop deeply connected to the community. Our mission is to bring together creative individuals of all kinds and provide a space where book clubs meet, authors share their stories, children enjoy storytime, and soft music fills the air.

Our passion lies in building connections—between writers and local residents, between stories and souls. We aim to create a welcoming atmosphere where the arts thrive and the community prospers.

Explore our bookstore, where you'll find more than just books. Our charming gift shop offers a delightful range of treasures, including locally made candles from Green Creek Candle Co., captivating artwork and stained glass created by local artisans, book-themed gifts, inspiring greeting cards, mind-stimulating puzzles, and a variety of organic skin and body care products. Dive in and discover a world of wonder waiting to be explored.

Situated in the quaint, historic town of Landrum, South Carolina, nestled amidst the breathtaking foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Page & Flame is more than just a bookstore—it's a haven where stories come to life and connections are formed. Join us as we celebrate the magic of literature and the warmth of community.

Our Owner

Amanda Edwards, the creative force behind Page & Flame, writes and crafts candles. Her passion for storytelling and ambiance led her to co-own Green Creek Candle Co. with her husband, David.

In 2024, the unexpected viral success of her candle "Scott Probably Hates This Candle," inspired Amanda. This success was due to a humorous TikTok video by author Jeneva Rose. This inspiration led her to open an independent bookstore.

Believing strongly in the importance of community gathering places, Amanda envisioned a space where literature and ambiance intertwined seamlessly. She saw the bookstore as more than just a place to buy books; for her, it's the heartbeat of a town, a haven where people can come together over tea and conversation.
